Dear YEC'ian / Volunteer
Thanx you for coming down early and those who helped out at the car

It will not be possible without all your time and effort in this first bang of YEC in this new year.
Special thanx to Danny, huiling, Christine, Eileen, tianli for
overseeing the event and those who helped to distribute the leaflet
prior to the event.
Also thank you Danny n Christine for coming down in the morning despite having an afternoon appointment/work.

The week ended on a high note with our hyper energizing
and draining car wash! Wooah! We washed a total of 43 cars and raised S$1118 in all! *Cheers*
Da Niu is busy hanging the banner
We were the shampoo girls in 2005 (we were so young then... Look at our 21-year-old faces!)
Boo Hoo... and we are now 24 years old liao :( The only difference is - we have "upgraded" to become the drying girls!
Our 4+ years of friendship and comradeship in YEC is something that we cherish deep
Orh, Uncle Danny is "risking" his life by climbing the ladder to wash the tall car!
Dear friends,
What's a better way than to begin the new year by doing your bit for charity? Kg Chai Chee YEC (Youth Executive Committee) is organizing a Charity Car Wash on 20 Jan 08 (Sun) from 9am to 3pm. All proceeds will be donated to the Moral Home for Disabled Adults at 2 Chai Chee Lane.
We would like to invite you to join this meaningful activity and help us raise funds for the beneficiary. Your little contribution will go a long way in helping and supporting them for their programs and care services.
How can you help?
1. Join as a volunteer* and help to wash the cars!
2. Drive your car here and let us do the washing :)

I was invited to the "Thank-You" Party cum BGM preparation last Saturday afternoon.
The 8-pages "Wow-Wow" of YEC newsletter which was done by Christine. A really BIG surprise! It contains all the sweet-sweet memories of the events and activities for the past 2 years :P Upon seeing the magazine, I feel wonderful to be part of YEC's frd and participating in some of their meaningful, sportive, interesting activites. Life ain't dull and sleepy, after all! Most importantly, the unknown friendship bonds created over the years which these activites has brought us together each time again and again.
After the meeting & makan-ing, it's photo taking time!

- A poem dedicated to all my friends who have shared the YEC dream with me -
4
years ago, I stumbled into YEC with a playful heart and an adventurous
mind. Never had I imagined that I would have gained so much more within
the 4 years.
Of friendship, of teamwork, of sincerity, of comradeship.
Do you know what touches me the most?
It
is when I see my dear friends rushing down for our monthly meetings on
Friday; receiving sms and emails that never fail to encourage me to
spur on; seeing Eileen joining us in the activities even when she is
pregnant with a baby; having Yuen Har with us although she is feeling
unwell and tired; seeing Shao Liang coming for the BGM straight after
his work even though he went without sleep the night before;receiving
Huiling's reminder messages; having Johan around for our events and
meetings even though I know that he is dead beat from work and NDP
practices; getting Nalinee's messages to say how much she had enjoyed
our company; hearing Peiwen's laughter amidst her stressful projects in
school; getting the knocks from Da Niu cos I wasn't looking good with
my stressed face; receiving the kind guidances from Danny; having
Tianli to drive us around and cracking silly jokes...
All these friends showered me with love and care... How can I not miss them at all?
They
stood by me when I was facing immense pressure from the seniors, they
make it a point to attend the meetings and help out in our events, they
laugh at my not-so-funny jokes, they are willing to put down their
status and join me in making monkey faces and doing funny actions for
our elderly friends in Ren Ci, they are always there to encourage and
to support a friend they called to be...And this is precisely the
reason why I cannot let go of my emotional barrier when I was juggling
with the answer I sought so hard to find in the past years.
The
past term was a happy one, although it was littered with specks of
sorrows somewhere, but having rode through the journey made me feel a
sense of joy. It is ironic though - the joy is best described as
bitter, because I know I will miss the sweet taste of our friendship
and the bitter taste of all the challenges that we have overcome
together as one.
I
received an email from Steve the other day. This really surprised me,
because his words encouraged me a lot. Just when I thought I was lost -
he related his thoughts and I was touched. Yuen
Har wrote me an email and her words touched me immensely. Those were
words from the heart, and these words never fail to lift my spirits
high and grant me hope to work even harder.
And last night, I cried while reading Shao Liang's blog.
His words were beautifully phrased and it was an apt description of the
journey which I went through. Needless to say, I was totally taken away
and yes, I can feel every sincerity that were penned along with the
words on his blog.
Thank
you, my dear friends - for making the 16th term YEC such a wonderful
and memorable one for me. I have truly savored the wonders of our
friendship and I'm sure we have many more years ahead for our
friendship to bloom even more!
Young. Energetic. Committed - may this be the motto that we seek to uphold in YEC!
